Our Little Plum Cake...

My daughter loves to cook - she loves to get into the kitchen and mix up concoctions and generally make a mess...and sometimes we have success - like today!

I'd like to introduce you to Our "easy peasy" little Plum Cake


After school today my daughter wanted to cook....she's been begging me for days to get into the kitchen spurred on by our love of snuggling up on the lounge each night to watch My Kitchen Rules.

Today we decided on a cake and seen as I had an oversupply of plums on hand we decided to incorporate them and came up with our very own little plum cake.

It was so good I had to share.

It's really that simple...we kind of made it up as we went along and it turned out perfectly.  I'm a total sucker for any cake that has fruit in it - apple crumble, apple strudel, pear and ricotta tart, anything with poached rhubarb...I'm there!


We are enjoying the last of the stone fruits here in Australia after our NON-SUMMER.  Next weekend will herald then end of daylight saving and that cool crispness will return to the air - the days will become shorter and the winter woollies will re-appear.  El-ninio, El ninia... whatever you are called PLEASE go away and give us a better summer to look forward to for 2012....I NEED SUMMER - I so look forward to those hot hot days, balmy evenings and endless blue skies....we just did not get that here in Sydney this year.
